FARNHAM Town powered through to the Aldershot FA Senior Cup final with an emphatic 4-0 win over Wessex Premier League strugglers Alresford Town in the semi-finals.
It was a scrappy first half at Arlebury Park, but a tidy finish by Matt Glass gave Farnham the lead.
Paul Tanner demanded more of his team, with a cup final at stake, and there was certainly a reaction in the second half. Glass showed his undoubted quality by completing an excellent hat-trick and Elliott Cardona added the fourth with a tap-in after James Thomas had somehow missed from similar range.
“Getting into a cup final at this level is a massive achievement,” said manager Tanner “The players and coaching staff have put in a huge amount of effort and I thank everybody involved with this.”
The final will be played at Aldershot Town’s EBB Stadium on Wednesday, May 11 (ko 7.45pm) and Farnham’s opponents will be either Fleet or Camberley who meet in the other semi-final.
Farnham are also in the Combined Counties League Premier Challenge Cup semi-finals and will play Cobham on Tuesday, April 19 for the right to meet Ashford or Camberley who play their semi-final this Tuesday (April 12).
