Farnham Town sealed the Isthmian League South Central Division title in style with a thumping 6-0 win at home to Rayners Lane.
Goals from Sam De St Croix (2), Great Evans, Darryl Sanders (2) and Sam Evans sealed the three points and back-to-back promotions for Town in front of a crowd of 524 at The Memorial Ground.
The hosts were quick out of the traps and nearly took the lead in the eighth minute when Ryan Kinnane’s left-foot volley went over the bar.
The breakthrough arrived on 12 minutes when Great Evans drilled a dangerous low cross into the box from the left channel which De St Croix emphatically thumped into the roof of the net.
Town nearly doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Jordan Gallagher cut in from the left and dragged his effort wide of the near post.
The hosts won a free kick in a promising position just outside the box on 34 minutes, but Gallagher’s effort went over the bar.
Mark Waters went close for Farnham two minutes later when he swept a right-foot effort goalwards which was well held by Rayners Lane keeper Endurance Johnson at his near post.
Gallagher then rattled the crossbar in the 42nd minute when he pounced on a loose ball and looked to curl his effort in from just outside the box.
The visitors nearly got back on level terms early in the second half when former Watford and Bolton Wanderers forward Marvin Sordell’s 48th-minute effort forced Farnham keeper Zaki Oualah to make a good save with his outstretched leg.
Town went straight back on the attack and almost got their second when Ben Purcell fired his effort from the edge of the box just wide of the left-hand post.
The hosts then won a penalty on 54 minutes when Stepney reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and was bundled over.
Great Evans stepped up from the spot and calmly slotted his 56th-minute penalty into the bottom left-hand corner to double Farnham’s advantage.
Farnham boss Paul Johnson then made a quadruple change, with Harry Cooksley, Sanders, Kai Tanner and Sam Evans replacing Purcell, Gallagher, Joe Jackson and Great Evans.
Town nearly scored their third of the evening on 65 minutes when Sanders slipped a pass through to Sam Evans, who tried to pick out Adam Liddle in the box but Liddle couldn’t quite tap home.
It was 3-0 five minutes later when Liddle held the ball up well and played a pass to Sanders, who clinically curled his effort into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
Farnham scored their fourth of the evening in the 75th minute when Liddle’s effort was spilled by Johnson to Sanders, who slotted home the rebound.
The goals were now flying in and it was 5-0 a minute later when De St Croix spotted Johnson off his line and floated a delightful effort over the stranded keeper and into the empty net.
Sanders nearly completed his hat-trick on 85 minutes when he rattled the left-hand post with a powerful effort.
Sam Evans made it 6-0 in stoppage time when he was through on goal and calmly placed his finish past Johnson.
The final whistle sparked scenes of celebration as Town secured the league title and a second successive promotion.
Next up for the champions is a home game against Sutton Common Rovers in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday, March 29 (3pm kick-off).
