Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson praised his side after they won 5-1 at Horley Town on Saturday to continue their perfect start to their Combined Counties Premier Division South campaign.

Town were quick out of the blocks and took the lead in the tenth minute when Adam Liddle tapped in from close range.

Horley hit back through Scott Walker’s free kick on 13 minutes, but the visitors regained their lead in the 20th minute when Lewis Flatman’s header found the far corner.

Harry Cooksley made it 3-1 from the penalty spot on 36 minutes, and Cooksley scored his second penalty of the afternoon in the 82nd minute.

Substitute Shamal Edwards marked his return from injury in style when he fired into the top corner on 90 minutes.

“It was another good performance and another win ticked off,” said Johnson.

“We’ve had a good run of league games recently and have got into a good rhythm.”

Town have added to their squad with the arrival of left-back Brandon Kalu, who came off the bench at Horley to make his debut for the club.

Midfielder Matt Surmon has left Farnham to join Combined Counties Premier Division North outfit Flackwell Heath.

Next up for Farnham is a home game against Rising Ballers Kensington in the first round proper of the FA Vase on Saturday (3pm).
