A SENSATIONAL 25-yard strike from Mac Ford paved the way for a fourth successive win for impressive Badshot Lea at Krooner Park today.
And a cool stoppage-time finish from busy wide man Danilo Cadete sealed the deserved 2-0 win over AFC Hayes in the Premier Division of the Combined Counties League.
Ford found space midway inside the Hayes half before unleashing an unstoppable right-footed shot into the top left-hand corner past the despairing full-length dive of visiting goalkeeper Cameron Kennedy on 14 minutes.
And Cadete sealed the points for Lea, who took another huge step toward Premier Division survival with a seventh win in 10 games, when he calmly fired substitute Brandon Lewington’s cutback into the bottom right-hand corner in the dying seconds.
In Division One, Farnham Town continued their recent revival after their recent horror run when two goals from Sam Gillett and a third from Ash Peck earned Town a 3-1 win over Eversley & California at the Memorial Ground.
Since ending a six-match winless run which all but put them out of the promotion title race, Luke Turkington’s charges have made it thee wins out of three to move back into the top four.
It follows a 3-1 win at FC Deportivo Galicia last Saturday and a tremendous 2-1 home win over title hopefuls Sheerwater at the Memorial Ground last Tuesday night.
