TWO goals in each half eased Badshot Lea to a deserved 4-2 win over Cobham at the Reg Madgwick Stadium in the FA Vase on Saturday.
Lea booked their place in the first round proper courtesy of first-half goals from Reece Connolly and Zac Hawker and clinical strikes from Nick Medcraft and Danilo Cadete after the break.
In-form Lea, who are already through to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup, were always on top and could easily have won by a bigger margin.
Farnham Town’s hopes of joining their Combined Counties League neighbours in the hat for the next round were crushed as they were beaten 6-0 at Southern Counties East League side Beckenham Town.
And there was also disappointment for Sydenhams Wessex League sides Alresford Town and Alton Town.
Previously unbeaten Premier Division leaders Alresford were beaten 2-1 at Western League Division One side Warminster Town while Alton Town lost 2-1 at home to Westbury United of the Premier Division of the Western League despite a goal from Jack Fowler.
The draw for the first round proper is due to take place on Monday. For all the reports and big match reaction, see next week's Herald.
