BADSHOT Lea 2, Frimley Green 3. Badshot Lea were knocked out of the FA Vase by their Combined Counties League Division One rivals.

Kurt Greenaway gave the Baggies an early lead, but Scott Sanders equalised before half-time and Jamil Olweny put Frimley Green ahead soon after the interval.

Sanders soon added a third and although Brad Smith converted a 72nd-minute penalty, it was Frimley who progressed to the first round proper and a difficult home draw against Blackfield & Langley who have a perfect record at the top of the Sydenhams Premier League – 10 games, 10 wins.

Thirteen Sydenhams League sides advanced to the first round proper, but Petersfield and Alresford were not amongst them.

Hamble Club 5, Petersfield Tn 0. Petersfield’s woes continued with a heavy defeat at Hamble Club. The scoreline was somewhat misleading, though. Only a Jack McCarthy goal separated the sides at half-time and an hour elapsed before Nathan Lynch converted a penalty to make it 2-0.

Hamble added three more in the last five minutes. Charlie Wagstaffe scored from a free-kick and substitute James Thompson struck a rapid brace.

Newport 2, Alresford Tn 1. No joy for Alresford on the Island. Steve Hall scored for the Magpies, but second-half strikes from Scott Sampson and Jared Wetherick sent the Islanders through.

Knaphill 0, Horndean 2. Goals inside the first 10 minutes from Jack Warren and Harry Jackson were enough to clinch victory for Horndean at Combined Counties League club Knaphill. Horndean will travel to Portland in the first round proper.
