The Haslemere-based JK Academy under-13s are celebrating after winning a tournament held at Championship outfit Leeds United’s Elland Road ground.

The team were crowned winners of the Leeds United FC ‘Play on the Pitch’ tournament.

JK Academy under-13s beat off strong opposition from Yorkshire, Newcastle, Ireland and Poland, all while playing on the Championship pitch – which was an extra-special experience for the players, parents and coaches.

The players also got to enjoy a stadium tour, including a visit to the Leeds United home changing room, and then walk out through the tunnel on to the pitch, before their first match.

The JK Academy under-13s have now won two trophies in recent weeks after also being crowned champions at the Worthing Town FC tournament.

The team also reached the final of another tournament, but were beaten on penalties in the final – which was held at National League South outfit Havant & Waterlooville’s ground.

They will be hoping to add to their impressive performances in upcoming tournaments across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex.

The JK Academy will be holding upcoming trials for the new season.
