Rangers scored twice in four minutes midway through the first half through Bradley Thomas and Jack Watts in blustery conditions at Addlestone Moor before Lea full-back Liam Roberts was sent off after picking up a second yellow card on 67 minutes.
And one-time Division One promotion hopefuls Farnham Town fared even worse, slumping to a demoralising 5-1 defeat at rock-bottom Fleet Spurs in an ill-tempered match where both sides ended the game with ten men.
Two goals in as many minutes shortly before half-time following some poor defending left Town rocking before Nick Medcraft’s sublime curling effort from outside the box gave the visitors a lifeline heading into break.
But that hope quickly evaporated when lively Fleet Spurs, making a mockery of their league position, scored twice more within 12 minutes of the restart to put the game firmly beyond Farnham’s reach.
But the drama didn’t stop there as a clumsy push from Town centre half Sean Evans gifted Spurs a penalty on 67 minutes, but Farnham goalkeeper Dease Kerrison got down smartly to his left to keep out Jake Bellmaine’s poor penalty.
And Bellmaine’s day got considerably worse just six minutes later when he was shown a straight red for a crude tackle on Evans.
But Evans, who had been booked earlier for remonstrating with the referee, was himself shown a second yellow for a late tackle six minutes from time.
And to add insult to injury, Spurs added a fifth in stoppage time when Adam Bellmaine teased Town centre half Bruce Harper before sending an audacious lob over the head of a back-pedalling Kerrison to complete the rout.
In the Sydenhams Wessex League, Alresford Town were beaten 4-1 at second-placed Horndean after going in at the break level at 1-1 courtesy of a goal from Paul Coventry.
In Division One, hapless Alton Town sank to a tenth consecutive loss with a 4-1 defeat at home to US Portsmouth. Callum Burch scored for the Brewers.
