Petersfield Town manager Connor Hoare praised his side's performance after they won a hard-earned point from a 1-1 draw against Brockenhurst in the Wessex League Premier Division on Tuesday night.
The Rams took the lead in the 28th minute through Oli Davies' composed finish into the bottom right corner, but the visitors equalised on 52 minutes through Sam Steel's header.
"We were really good in the first half," said Hoare. "We came in at half-time and it had been almost as complete as it can get in terms of playing our style of football and the intensity we require.
"I'm really pleased with the first half – it was everything we asked of the players.
"In the second half we knew there was going to be 20 minutes of pressure. The wind was coming straight at us so we knew kicking the ball long was going to be difficult. We needed to be brave, but not careless.
"After that 20-minute period I thought we could gain a bit of control back in the game, which we did. Overall, a draw was probably a fair result."
