The hosts doubled their advantage three minutes later when Ryan Jones’ cross from the left picked out Aaron Jones at the far post and he hit a superb first-time right-foot volley past the helpless Wright and into the roof of the net.
Shots keeper Marcus Dewhurst was called into action for the first time in the 21st minute when Szhem Whyte-Hall cut in from the left and hit a powerful right-foot shot which Dewhurst gathered at the second attempt.
Dewhurst made another smart save ten minutes later when Marcel Oakley hit a low right-foot shot which was well blocked by the Shots keeper at his near post.

Holman was proving to be a threat and he raced down the right flank on 54 minutes and picked out Conor Wilkinson, whose effort was blocked.
The Shots nearly scored their fourth of the evening in the 65th minute when Josh Barrett hit a powerful left-foot shot from the edge of the box which was superbly tipped behind for a corner by the outstretched Wright.
Holman continued to cause the hosts problems at the other end and his effort on 69 minutes was superbly blocked by Woodhouse.
Aldershot substitute Brad Dolaghan nearly made an instant impact in the 75th minute when he made space for a shot before firing his effort over the bar.
The visitors pulled a goal back a minute later when Christian Maghoma misjudged a ball over the top and Holman raced clear and calmly slotted his finish past Dewhurst to make it 3-1 and get the goal his lively display deserved.
Solihull’s hopes of getting back into the game received a hammer blow on 77 minutes when Wilkinson was sent off after being booked and then instantly getting a second yellow card for sarcastically clapping at referee Alan Dale.
The ten-man visitors continued to push for a second and Bradley Stevenson hit a shot from just outside the box in the 86th minute which was well held by Dewhurst.
Aldershot managed to see out the rest of the game to earn a second successive victory and pick up a welcome three points in their National League survival battle.
