A one horse race for the title could become a photo finish and a promotion has been confirmed in the Farnham & District Billiards & Snooker League.
But the story of the week was in the third division, as Lee Coyne knocked in a magnificent 57 break for Bordon B.
Coyne’s stunning knock in a 93-26 win over Ben Coombes is one of the highest in the division’s history, and the fourth biggest in the entire league.
Having enjoyed a ten-point cushion just a few weeks ago, league leaders Sovereign B are facing a late challenge from Comrades A. The latter saw off Liss RBL A 4-0 to move within just two points of Sovereign B, who had Allan Gomez to thank for rescuing a draw against their ‘A’ club-mates.
Shottermill B gave their relegation fight a boost with a 2-2 draw against close rivals Sovereign C, with Dong Ming Lau hitting a 47 in an opening frame against Rory Mann.
Hindhead RBL B clinched promotion and have one hand on the Division Two title after a 3-1 win at Farnham Cons B.
Bourne B are five points clear of third-placed Liss RBL C with two to play, while at the other end Rowledge need to win one frame to confirm relegation for Traco E, Comrades B and Hindhead RBL A.
It’s as you were at the top of Division Three with Alton Cons A, Bordon B and Bourne A all drawing.
