Petersfield Hockey Club’s men’s third team produced a superb performance to beat Basingstoke Hockey Club’s men’s sixth team 8-2 and continue their superb form.
After a convincing 6-2 victory at Chichester in their previous match, the third team had to make up for a lack of available starting goalkeepers and therefore fielded Ed Roberts as a rookie goalkeeper.
Roberts filled the role well thanks to a well-marshalled defence led by Paul Fisher.
Once again Petersfield’s youngsters made the difference, with four goals from the in-form Jonty Roberts, two goals from Henry Bott and one goal each from Tom Cullen and Leo Cropley.
