A busy weekend at Farnham Rugby Club saw four senior men’s teams play on Saturday (September 24) and two women’s teams, over-50, under-16, under-14, under-11 girls and the boy’s academy all participating in competitive games on Sunday (September 25).
All teams acquitted themselves well, with good wins for the men and women’s 1st XVs.
The Falcons thrashed Abbey RFC’s women 73-0. The men’s 2nd XV fell just short at Camberley, 14-12, conceding a try in the last play of the game, while the Falcons (women’s) 2nds succumbed to Basingstoke Women’s 1st XV but with a creditable 36-20 score line.
The academy opened their account with a 37-17 victory at Portsmouth. Meanwhile, the men’s 3rd XV overcame local rival’s Lightwater 48-28, but the 4th XV was undone by a series of breakout tries by Basingstoke’s 2nd XV to lose 36-7.
