League leaders Farnham kept their Regional Two South Central promotion push on track with a 59-20 win at home to Newbury on Saturday.
Farnham’s opening try arrived when Sam Voight tipped the ball to Marco Azevedo, who broke through and was brought to ground. The ball was recycled to Toby Salmon, who scored in the corner.
Newbury responded with a penalty to make it 7-3.
Farnham then moved the ball through the backline to Joe Wigmore, who finished well in the corner to make it 12-3.
The hosts then won a breakdown penalty and kicked to the corner. The lineout was well organised with the forward pack getting a powerful shove on, resulting in Jonny Vincent diving over for the score.
Shawa Rai then ran a superb line to break through the defence and powered into the Newbury 22. The ball was recycled and Voight picked up the ball from the breakdown and powered over under the posts for the bonus-point try.
Farnham scrum half Harry West then received a yellow card for playing the ball on the floor following a Newbury break.
Farnham’s fifth try arrived when a driving maul was stopped short but Oscar Henderson was on hand to dive over in the corner and make it 33-3.
Henderson then dotted down in the corner for his second try after a break from Vincent.
Vincent dotted down to make it 45-3, before Newbury scored a converted try
Bellamy then dotted down for his first Farnham try, before Newbury scored their second try.
Henderson completed his hat-trick before Newbury scored a late try in the corner.
Farnham will travel to Chichester on Saturday.
Farnham’s promotion push is coinciding with the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
An anniversary lunch was held before Farnham’s win at home to Petersfield earlier this month, and further events are planned this year.
