League leaders Farnham kept their Regional Two South Central promotion push on track with a comprehensive 55-12 win at Andover.

The visitors opened the scoring when Harrison Horner offloaded to Shawa Rai who scampered to the line.

Andover then tried to play out of their own half but the ball didn’t go to hand and Joe Wigmore picked it up and sprinted in for Farnham’s second try.

Farnham’s forwards then executed a superb lineout move when Ollie Banks-Thompson came down the five-metre channel and put in Oli Kirkpatrick who scored his maiden first-team try.

A penalty gave Andover a chance to kick to the corner and they used their own lineout move to score their first try.

A Farnham penalty on the stroke of half-time was kicked to the corner and the driving maul was set up perfectly with Kirkpatrick diving over for his second try.

Farnham opened the scoring in the second half when Joe Brockman intercepted an Andover pass and raced clear from 40 metres out for Farnham’s fifth try.

A penalty gave Farnham another chance to kick to the corner and although the initial maul was stopped short, the Farnham forwards kept it tight and Jonny Vincent popped the ball to Rai, who dived over for his second try.

Wigmore then broke clear before offloading to Oscar Henderson who spilled the ball with the try line in his sights.

Farnham’s next try arrived when Wigmore fly hacked the ball through and Andover couldn’t sweep up the ball cleanly, leaving Wigmore to score his second try.

A well-executed lineout move then saw Toby Salmon break clear and put in Fin Sloan to score under the posts.

Andover then scored their second try to make it 50-12.

Farnham completed the scoring when they recycled the ball and Recce Stennett went over in the corner.
