Alton Ladies reached the Invitation Cup semi-finals after beating Basingstoke Town Women 6-5 on penalties following a 0-0 draw at the Anstey Park Enclosure on December 1.

The hosts were missing several players, with others on the field either playing out of position or suffering from illness.

The tense shootout saw the advantage sway from team to team, but Alton won with solid penalties and good saves.
