People living with dementia and their carers and loved ones are invited to an annual festival raising awareness about the disease.

The East Hampshire Dementia Festival will be held on Friday, October 4 from 10am to 3pm at Petersfield Festival Hall. Now in its fourth year, the free event will have a selection of more than 30 stands providing dementia-related support.

It also offers activities suitable for people with dementia as well as music, crafts and a chance to meet and chat with people who share similar experiences.

Local organisations taking part in the event include Dementia Friendly Hampshire, The Rosemary Foundation, Right At Home, Home Instead East Hampshire and Midhurst, Everyone Active, Petersfield Dementia Choir and others.

This year, people have the chance to try the Dementia Bus Virtual Tour, which gives a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like.

Free parking and refreshments will be available.
