A developer has donated to Bordon Foodbank and the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust as these vital services see increasing demand because of the cost-of-living crisis.

The funds from Annington, which recently refurbished former MoD properties in the town, will be split across the two organisations to provide emergency food and to support the Youth Hub in their 2023 team-building activities.

Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust spokesman Sian Manning said: “We’re extremely grateful for the support from Annington, particularly at this time of year when families can be faced with the decision of having food on the table or putting on the heating.

“Our Youth Hub enables young people to spend time with friends and learn new skills from local organisations.

“We’ve held pottery lessons, graffiti sessions and musical classes, and rely heavily on the support of our local community.

“This donation will help maintain our activities, which so many young people benefit from.”

Annington marketing manager Stacy Whitehead added: “With energy costs rising and the cost of living impact, we hope our support of the community trust can be felt all year round. We’re glad to donate to such worthwhile causes in Bordon.”
