The Bourne Parish marked Burns Night with a traditional supper and ceilidh in St Thomas-on-The Bourne Church.

A total of 120 people aged from 16 to 85 sat down to supper in the Centenary Rooms, where the haggis was accompanied in by a kilted bagpiper.

The music was provided by the Craigievar Scottish Ceilidh Band and the dancing took place in the church, where the dancing skills of the oldest generation were much admired by their juniors. It was a most enjoyable evening.

The next day the church welcomed the Bishop of Guildford, the Rt Revd Andrew Watson, to admit five young choristers to full membership of the choir and meet about 20 adults and youngsters from The Bourne confirmed over the last few years.
