Questions will be asked when two councils come together to hold a free networking event for Guildford and Waverley firms.

Set your alarm for Business Question Time with the third annual event taking place in Farnham Castle from 5 to 7pm on Monday, May 19.

Networkers can get valuable advice and guidance about issues and opportunities facing the business sector during the event organised by Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils.

Local broadcaster Peter Godson will host while the ‘AI: What’s all the fuss?’ keynote speech will be given by Dr Andrew Rogoyski from the University of Surrey.

The director of innovation at the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI is also a business leader, strategist and technologist with 30 years of experience in industry, government and academia.

A panel of experienced business leaders from a range of sectors will also be on hand to answer questions from the audience in the event’s “exciting new setting”.

“We’re thrilled to bring back this highly successful event,” said councillor Liz Townsend, WBC portfolio holder for planning and economic development.

“It’s where experienced business leaders come together to share valuable insights with those seeking guidance and inspiration.”

She added: “Whilst times remain challenging for businesses across the UK, there are also incredible opportunities emerging in the green economy and AI.

“This event offers a unique chance to connect, learn, and tap into a wealth of business expertise.

“We look forward to welcoming local businesses and creating an environment of support, innovation, and growth."

Cllr Tom Hunt, GBC lead councillor, said: “Business Question Time is part of our ongoing work to support the business community, build on our strong local economy, and create a more prosperous borough.”
