PUPILS and staff at Greatham Primary School raised a total of £329.42 for Comic Relief with a variety of events on Red Nose Day.
Parent helper Roda Muggeridge helped the children in the Rabbits reception class with a red-themed fashion show which, along with their sweet stall, generated £71.97.
The pupil governors came up with the idea of a Splat The Teacher event, and the whole school lined up for a chance to throw a wet sponge at their teachers as they stood in the pillory.
Those taking part were headteacher Jo Goman, deputy headteacher Mark Richmond, physical education teacher Jordan Farnden, Karen Keenan and John Lawry.
Mr Richmond said: "We had a fantastic day raising money for Comic Relief. While it was a little cold, all the pupils had a wonderful time splatting us!"
The money raised by children who paid to take part in Splat The Teacher and wear their own red clothes came to £257.45.
