SANTA may have encountered a bit more rain than snow as he made his traditional stop off at Sheet Primary School last week – but the wet weather didn't deter visitors to the Christmas fayre from raising more than £1,300 for school funds. "Despite the weather we had a great time," said Gail Beaton, of event organisers Friends of Sheet School. Santa's Grotto, stalls and a tombola with a chocolate theme all proved popular, as did the lure of a prize of a trip on the Eurostar for the lucky winner in a grand raffle.
