It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas at Farnham’s much-loved department store.
Work to install the line of leaning Christmas trees above the West Street frontage of Elphick’s began last Wednesday (November 6).
The store already has Christmas-themed displays in its windows while its big “switch on” is expected to coincide with the town’s on Saturday evening.
Big crowds are expected with a special guest - or guests – turning on the lights at 4.30pm.
The fun will start at 1pm at Gostrey Meadow with free and live entertainment from schools, theatre groups, dance companies and bands performing in the build-up to the main event.
Meanwhile, revellers can also expect fireworks next Monday evening (November 18) with a celebration being held at St George’s for the Badshot Lea Christmas Lights switch-on at the church and school.
Visitors can expect singing, hot chocolate, mince pies and lashings of mulled wine from 5.30pm, all welcome.
