New Farnham-area teachers who trained under a scheme known as SCITT have celebrated their graduation ceremony at Guildford Cathedral, along with family, friends, headteachers and other guests.
SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training) combines classroom experience with academic learning and these graduates had trained under South Farnham SCITT and George Abbot SCITT, who united in September to provide primary and secondary teacher training around the southeast under the name South Farnham SCITT.
The teachers are now beginning their careers across the region, joining other SCITT graduates who are currently estimated to be teaching more than 50,000 children.
Sir Andrew Carter, CEO of South Farnham Educational Trust, said: “We are immensely proud of all our early career teachers.
“This ceremony not only celebrates the achievements of the graduates but also marks the beginning of their journey to inspire, educate and make a meaningful difference to the lives of the students they educate for many years.”
