Farnham in Bloom 2025 blossomed into action on Saturday (March 22) with a vibrant community day at Gostrey Meadow.

The family-friendly event saw volunteers rolling up their sleeves for activities such as moving compost, planting new flowerbeds, and litter picking.

Visitors also enjoyed live music, children’s activities, and the chance to meet the friendly residents of an animal farm.

Farnham is hoping to repeat its success from 2024, when the town won Gold and Best in Category at the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards.

Cllr Mat Brown, Farnham Town Council lead member for the environment, said: “Farnham in Bloom has earned national recognition thanks to the many volunteers who get involved every year.

“The campaign is about so much more than flowers, it is a vibrant community-driven project that connects local people with nature and all its benefits.”

Community groups played a key role in the event. Badshot Lea Bloomers, space2grow, Hive Helpers, Farnham Community Farm, and Brightwells Gostrey set up stalls, sharing how they are making a difference in Farnham and welcoming new volunteers to join their efforts.

Gold sponsors for this year’s Farnham in Bloom include The Patio Blackspot Removal Company Ltd, Squire’s Garden Centre and BBS Ltd.

Thanks to their contributions, Farnham Town Council can organise additional community initiatives, including the Great British Spring Clean, which will run until April 6.
