Favourite memories, poetry, songs, gifts and cards marked the end of Alison Stone’s time as headteacher of Folly Hill Infant Academy.

Alison Stone had been head of the north Farnham school for nine years, during which she oversaw the school’s transition into being a member of The Kite Academy Trust.

The 70-plus pupils marked the occasion with an assembly filled with music, poetry and laughter.

Highlights a special leavers' song and an energetic rendition of Jai Ho, a song from the film Slumdog Millionaire.

There was a farewell poem and pupils shared their favourite Mrs Stone moments, with many mentioning her flair for dressing-up and her enthusiasm for creating memorable school events.

She received dozens of gifts and cards from current and former students, all expressing their gratitude and wishing her well for the future.

Alison is also head of another Kite Academy School, Cross Farm Infants in Camberley. She is remaining with Cross Farm but is now also head of Sandringham Infant and Nursery Academy in Frimley.

Jeremy Meek, chief executive of The Kite Academy Trust, said: “Mrs Stone has led Folly Hill superbly for nine very successful years.

“As a highly skilled and experienced infant school specialist leader, we are delighted that she has taken up an exciting opportunity for career development within The Kite Academy Trust and that her extensive knowledge and skills will be retained.”

Folly Hill’s new head is Clare Freeman, who is also head of Hale Nursery and Primary Academy.

Mr Meek added: “In keeping with our Kite one-team ethos, we are fortunate to be able to draw on a wealth of proven expertise and experience from within the trust.

“Through the appointment of Clare Freeman, we can ensure consistency in leadership while also embracing a collaborative opportunity to strengthen and develop the partnership between the academies and their communities.”
