Bella Hardy will play for Grayshott Folk Club at Grayshott Village Hall on November 29 at 7.30pm.

Des O’Byrne, of Grayshott Folk Club, said: “We’ve been waiting for the right moment to introduce Bella Hardy to our Grayshott audience. Some will already know her and will have heard her beautiful singing and playing before. Others have a delightful surprise in store.

“Either way, Bella has been making new music this year and we’re very much looking forward to hearing her perform it live.”

As an appetiser for her new album, Bella released a single in February which is her version of a traditional song called Shepherds Are The Cleverest Lads.

Des said: “The album is due to be released in November and we will be among the first to hear Bella sing songs and play tunes from it live.

“Bella has enlisted the help of her good friend and brilliant guitarist Jenn Butterworth to give her a better, a fuller overall sound and a better representation of her album.”

Multiple Folk Award-winning artist Bella started as a self-taught fiddle singer, performing at the Cambridge and Sidmouth folk festivals from the age of 13. She is steeped in the tradition, but as her career progressed Bella absorbed other musical influences.

Her debut album Night Visiting established her reputation when her first original song Three Black Feathers earned a BBC Folk Award nomination. She was Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year in 2014.

Bella will be supported by local singer, song writer and guitarist Ed Blunt.
