Lion and Unicorn theatre group is back on tour this month, performing a madcap comedy.
The Titfield Thunderbolt is an adaptation of the 1960s Ealing comedy. The villagers of Titfield and Mallingford are losing their railway. What can they do? Why, run it themselves of course!
Lady Chesterford, Reverend Weech and Dan the plate layer go full steam ahead with plans to work the line. But Vernon Crump has his own alternative transport scheme. He's out to sabotage their plans at every turn.
Will Harry Crump find love? Will Blakeworth the town clerk get to the golf course? Will Lady C ever understand what a gamekeeper does? Does Dan know what a stuffing gland is? Does Valentine know what day it is? All these questions will probably not be answered but much fun will be had.
With live sound effects, mime and simple props, The Titfield Thunderbolt will be steaming in to The Half Moon in Sheet on November 27, Henry Warren Hall in Nyewood on November 28, Stroud Village Hall on November 29 and Petersfield Community Centre on November 30. All performances are at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15, are available from One Tree Books in Petersfield or from the website www.lionandunicorn.org
