Castle Street will see the return of cyclists for Farnham’s favourite sporting event on Sunday, July 4 – Independence Day no less!
Because of the situation last year we were not able to run our usual event. However, we did manage to lay on a scaled down version, aptly named, ‘Not The Farnham Bike Ride’.
This event still managed to raise more than £1,000 for charity which, considering the circumstances, was pretty impressive. Thank you to all those who took part and donated.
This year we are hoping to run a fairly normal event, although we will obviously be keeping an eye on any relevant guidance and ensure we have precautionary measures in place should they be required. We will keep riders updated as we approach the date.
For 2021 we are thrilled to welcome back the Hogs Back Brewery, as well as announcing ME Estate Agents as our medal sponsor, who will be handing out free medals to all riders at the finish.
Entrants can register now at www.farnhambikeride.org.uk for a discounted entry fee.
Riders can also sign up on the morning on Castle Street, with registration desks opening at 7am.
The 75-mile riders will start at 8am, 50-milers at 8.30am, 25-milers at 9am and finally the 16-milers at 9.30am.
As usual we will have our four signposted and marshalled routes running through the beautiful Surrey and Hampshire countryside.
With 16, 25, 50 and 75-mile routes available, we have something for everyone.
Whether you’re looking for a fun family cycle, or a challenging ride that takes on the daunting Butser Hill climb, we think you will love our event; and don’t worry, we have plenty of refreshment points along the routes to keep you fed and watered. And of course, under-16s ride free!
Starting and finishing on Castle Street, there will be lots of other activities to enjoy, including a barbecue laid on by our sponsor ME Estate Agents, a free bottle of beer from our partners at The Hogs Back Brewery, and a tea and cake stall from 3rd Farnham Scouts.
Oak Park Clinic and Muscle + Motion will also have their therapists on hand to help with any post-ride aches and pains.
Running since 2008, the bike ride is jointly organised by Farnham Round Table and St Andrew’s Infant School, and since the inaugural event it has raised more than £100,000 for local charities and good causes.
A great day out for families and club riders, we hope to welcome you along to the Farnham Charity Bike Ride & Sportive 2021!
