Festival of Crafts, Farnham Maltings’ longest-running craft event, is back on Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
It is a curated showcase of talented makers producing an exciting display of design excellence and the process of making, using both traditional and modern techniques and skills.
Now in its 27th year, the festival continues to offer consumers a selection of unique items not found on the high street and attracts more than 2,000 visitors.
Craft co-ordinator and festival organiser Jo Connolly said: “It’s estimated that there are over 11,000 crafts businesses across the UK. As a lead partner in the Farnham World Craft Town initiative, craft is a big part of our programming at Farnham Maltings, which includes supporting, showcasing and celebrating makers both locally and across the UK.”
This year’s festival welcomes 85 emerging and established makers from across the UK, featuring textiles, glass, leather, ceramics and jewellery.
There is a complementary programme of artist installations, bookable workshops, demonstrations and participatory activities for the whole family. The New Ashgate Gallery will pick the Festival of Crafts New Ashgate Gallery Award winner.
