Farnham Town Council paid tribute to veterans and the UK’s military with a special ceremony to mark Armed Forces Day last Monday.
Flag-raising ceremonies took place all over the UK to mark a week of national activities in a show of appreciation for the armed forces.
Farnham’s flag-raising was led by the Mayor of Farnham, Cllr Brodie Mauluka and Deputy Lieutenant Brig. Paul Evans OBE alongside members of the community and service personnel.
Children from Badshot Lea Infants School assisted the mayor with unfurling the Armed Forces flag on the front of Farnham Town Hall.
The mayor said: “Our flag-raising event is an important annual occasion and is an opportunity for Farnham to show its support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community and to pay tribute to their courage and dedication.”
A flag-raising ceremony also took place the previous week at the Waverley Borough Council offices.
