Pupils at a primary school in Farnham have shown their community spirit by taking part in a litter picking event.
Children from William Cobbett Primary school cleaned the streets surrounding their school, bringing together 20 eco monitors to raise awareness about littering and promoting sustainability in Farnham.

The litter pick took place on Friday, March 7, with children from various year groups armed with gloves, litter pickers, and bags to collect waste scattered across the neighbourhood.
It wasn’t just the children helping to clean up the mess as the chair of governors Nick Summerville and headteacher Andrew Stear helped out as well, while ensuring everyone was safe and having fun.
Teacher Mrs Jenkins said: “We wanted to teach the children that every little action counts, and by picking up litter, they’re making a big difference in their own community.”
Children collected all kinds of litter as they discovered items including plastic bottles and food wrappers to forgotten pieces of clothing and discarded toys, such as footballs.
By the end of the event, about six bags of litter were collected, leaving the pupils feeling proud of their work.
The school hopes to make the litter pick a termly event, with plans to involve even more pupils and members of the community in future clean-up efforts.
Farnham Town Council helped contribute by gifting litter pickers and hoops for future litter picks.
With the success of this event, it's clear that the next generation is ready to take on the challenge of protecting the planet.
