Farnham’s new town centre NHS surgery has confirmed its official opening date.

Central Surgery will open on Monday, February 3, at its new premises on Union Street, according to a statement from the Downing Street Group Practice.

After more than 200 years at its previous location, the practice has relocated just 300 metres to Wey Court East on Union Road. The new state-of-the-art facility will replace the old building, providing high-quality healthcare tailored to the needs of the community.

A spokesperson stated that while the practice has changed its name from Downing Street Surgery to Central Surgery and relocated to Union Road, it remains within walking distance of its former site on Downing Street. “The contact details, services, and the staff who have been serving the community will remain the same,” the spokesperson said.

“The new premises the group say will allow the practice to enhance its services and ensure a better experience for its patients.” Dr Edward Wernick, GP partner at Downing Street Group Practice said: "We are incredibly excited about this new chapter for our practice. We remain fully committed to providing the same exceptional care with the same fantastic team.

“The new premises will be better equipped to meet the needs of patients and provide improved services in a welcoming, modern setting. We are looking forward to opening our doors to everyone as Central Surgery.”
