Summer has begun early in Farnham this year with a line up of vibrant community events that promise to bring together residents and visitors alike.

The return of Music in the Meadow on May 26 will kick start these events, followed by a D-Day celebration and Proms & Pop in the Park.

Lead member for community Cllr Kika Mirylees said: “We are delighted to partner with Kidd Rapinet for the seventh year running and to welcome Shaw Gibbs as joint principal sponsor.

“By having two sponsors on board, we have been able to add some new events to the calendar. I am really looking forward to this year’s Music in the Meadow which will feature three extended concerts.”

Kira added that further events to look forward to will be Farnham Folk Day on June 23, Young Artists’ Showcase on July 28 and World Music Day on August 11.

Andrew Kingston from Kidd Rapinet said: “We are honoured to once again be a key player in bringing this wonderful programme of events to local people and are proud to be involved in an initiative that has such a positive impact on the community and brings joy and connection to our town.”

Sharmini Wooding representing its partner Shaw Gibbs added: “We are delighted to support the Farnham community in bringing them a fun and music filled summer, focused at bringing people of all ages together.

“We are committed to investing in the local economy, so being associated with an initiative that brings people into Farnham and supports local businesses complements our values.”

Representatives from Kidd Rapinet and Shaw Gibbs will be present at many summer events and look forward to meeting members of the community. For a comprehensive guide to what’s happening this summer, visit the Town Council’s online events calendar.
