A CHARITY fundraiser has seen more than £3,000 raised for Cats Protection’s Farnham, Camberley & Districts branch.

The fundraising event was run by Pets at Home, Farnham, under their charity Support Adoption For Pets (SAFP).

Through cake sales, raffles and a teddy tombola, the Pets at Home branch raised a whopping £3,090.57 for the charity.

Sue Milward, branch coordinator, said: “We’d like to thank everybody who came by to show their support.

“We are really pleased with the amount we managed to raise – the money will really make a difference in giving unwanted cats a second chance in life.”

In 2019, the Farnham, Camberley & Districts Branch conducted more than 130 home visits, re-homing 141 cats, along with 29 direct homings.

They also helped reunite 35 cats with their owners through the lost and found pages and a team of volunteer microchip scanners – a number the team hope to improve on this year with an increase of volunteers.

The branch is part of a network of more than 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres that together help more than 190,000 cats and kittens each time.

Previously named Farnham & Wey Valley, the branch merged with the Camberley division to create a new, larger area.
