Hale Community Centre has launched its annual Christmas toy appeal.

The centre is after new toys and gifts for children and young people in and organisers have asked that anything be dropped at the centre between 9am and 3pm on weekdays up to November 29. Local collections can also be arranged.

As well as new toys, the centre is collecting books, toiletries, games and sweets suitable for up to the age of 16.

This is the third year the centre has run the appeal and in previous years the donations have had a big impact on families.

Melissa Salisbury, manager of the centre, said: “People were amazed by the generosity of others and it really took the burden off families to provide gifts at Christmas.”

The centre is at 130 Upper Hale Road.
