Farnham Town Council has made a grand gesture to Waverley hoppa Community Transport.

The £10,000 grant will go towards the popular hoppa Shoppa service used by residents who don’t have access to any other transport.

The door to door service helps residents who would otherwise struggle to do weekly shopping, attend medical appointments and run day-to-day errands.

“For some people, the weekly trip on hoppa is the only time they come into contact with other people, so it plays a vital role in helping tackle social isolation,” said FTC leader, councillor Graham White.

Farnham became the first town in Waverley to be served by an all-electric, wheelchair accessible community transport service thanks to a previous FTC grant to the provider.
