FARNHAM Sea Cadet, Jade Newell, decided to do something different for her 16th birthday as she waved goodbye to her long locks with hopes of making someone else’s life that bit easier.
Jade donated four plaits to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children battling the effects of cancer and alopecia. She also raised £317 in the process.
Family, friends, teachers from The Connaught School in Aldershot and staff from Farnham Sea Cadets at TS Swiftsure in Badshot Lea, all made donations to the cause.
Jade celebrated her 16th with a birthday party with family and close friends, one of whom is a member of the Sea Cadet Corps and travelled from Essex to be with her.
She has been a member of Farnham Sea Cadets since she was 12 and has been on many offshore courses gaining many qualifications, which will help her into adulthood.
Her family are incredibly proud and describe her as a girl who loves life and enjoys making many friends along the way - in the future Jade hopes to join the Royal Navy.
