The Arts Society Farnham Evening will host a lecture on The Golden Age of British Comedy in the Centenary Rooms at St Thomas-on-The Bourne on June 26.
Doors open at 6.45pm, the AGM is at 7pm and the lecture by Tyler Butterworth starts at 7.30pm.
Tyler, son of actor Peter Butterworth, spent 25 years as a film, television, theatre and radio actor before working as a development producer on television documentaries, including a series for NASA.
He will discuss British comedy of the 1970s and 1980s - comedians and impressionists, television and end-of-pier shows, and entertainers such as Morecambe and Wise and Bruce Forsyth.
He will share his personal connection with this world, explore acts, places and people that made audiences laugh, and ask “What’s happened to comedy today?”
Visitors are welcome for £8, which includes free parking and a glass of wine. To book email [email protected]
