Farnham is preparing for a bout of yellow fever as the final countdown to a quacking day of entertainment in the heart of the town has begun.
Farnham Weyside Rotary Club have urged well-wishers to splash out on tickets for the Great Farnham Duck Race.
Gostrey Meadow will be awash with colour, music and fun with a flotilla of ducks taking to the River Wey on Saturday, May 3.
Ticket holders and fans can expect a series of exciting heats in the race to be crowned Champion Duck for 2025 with the fun taking place from midday to 4pm.
“There’s more to the day than the races as dozens of stalls from local organisations will fill the meadow,” said a spokesperson for the club.

“There will also be children’s amusements, music and plenty to eat and drink.
“The spokesperson added: “This year there will also be a performance from the ever-popular Rock Choir, so it all adds up to a day with plenty of entertainment for all the family.”
Race tickets cost a princely £2 and there will be prizes for the winners of each heat and the overall victor.
Participants can snap up a duck in Lion & Lamb Yard during the last two Saturdays of the month (April 19 and 26) or purchase one on the day. For those who can’t wait, tickets are available online at https://shorturl.at/IB6oZ
All money raised from the annual event sponsored by Birdworld will go to local and Rotary charities.
This year’s nominated charity is The Woodlarks Centre, a much-loved care home and activity centre on the edge of the town in a beautiful wooded setting.
