NEW SPEED limits have been introduced on two roads in Bordon this week.
Drivers travelling along Budds Lane and Station Road will now be limited to 30mph, after the changes were introduced on Monday (November 25).
There are also new traffic restrictions outside Oakmoor School, including a no waiting and stopping order which will be in force Monday to Friday, 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm.
East Hampshire district and Hampshire county councillor Adam Carew campaigned for the changes, following previous reductions from 60mph to a mix of 30mph and 40mph.
He said: “With the arrival of the new Oakmoor School and highly- popular skate park in Budds Lane and terrace housing along Station Road, I tried again and county highways have now agreed the speed limit in both roads should be reduced to 30mph throughout.
“I have also been promised additional signage for the skate park and 20mph zone outside the school while it is operation, and continue to lobby for reduced speeds in Hogmoor Road so it is 30mph throughout.”
