A pub chain is banking on plenty of interest after completing the stunning transformation of a landmark building in Farnham.
The Teller’s Arms is a noteworthy addition to Castle Street as Youngs have converted the former Lloyds branch into a pub and boutique hotel.
And what a conversion it is – with sections of the watering hole feeling more akin to drinking hotspots in London and Vienna than off a thoroughfare in Farnham.
The pub officially opened on Thursday, October 17, but like the finest pint of Guinness, the proceedings were drawn out over the following 48 hours.
Youngs held an opening ‘knees-up’ the next day to celebrate the opening of the pub, hotel and rooftop terrace, while there was another treat on Saturday as a horse and cart brought them a very special delivery.
The pub was packed throughout the weekend as residents checked out the conversion and sampled its menu.
The menu created by head chef Ryan Patterson champions British seasonal ingredients and local suppliers with examples including buttermilk fried pheasant, grilled poussin and roasted Jerusalem artichoke.
Roast dinners will be served up on Sundays, bookings are being accepted for the Christmas period, and a programme of events from quiz nights to cheese and wine evenings are planned.
At the bar, discover a selection of local craft and draught beers running alongside Young’s own ale, whilst there is also a concise list of signature cocktails and a range of wines by the glass and bottle from across the world.
