Sales from a milestone calendar a decade in the making will help a Farnham charity to support local people and organisations in need.

There’s at least a dozen good reasons why Herald readers should buy the 11th annual Hedgehogs Love Farnham calendar.

It features 12 incredible photographs of places in and around Farnham, for starters, with each submitted by a talented local photographer over the last decade.

The photos range from Peter Goodman’s winter wonderland January scene of The Avenue in Farnham Park to a poignant scene by Gail Wilson-Wattingham of memorial poppies at St Andrew’s.

There’s ten more, of course, with the food festival, skate park, Gostrey Meadow bridge, Waggoners Wells and Frensham Great Pond among the inclusions.

Every photograph is credited, with submissions by Albert Wilkinson, Andy Love, Keith Lambert, Ayyaz Khan, Julian Paynter, Jonathan Durham, Michael Hoblyn, Allan Arthurs, Luke Welvaert and Jon Hawkins all making the final cut.

But the biggest reason to buy a copy is proceeds will help a plethora of local good causes, organisations and people in need.

The next year is a big one for the Hedgehogs as the altruistic group – which has donated more than half a million to charity over the last decade – will celebrate its 65th year in 2025.

The charity is unique to Farnham and has around 50 members, who all help with running costs.

The calendar is officially sponsored and recognised by Farnham Town Council and includes a listing of important annual events in the area, from the literary and walking festivals to the Christmas market and lights switch-on.

It will be on sale at pop-up stalls and further events in the run-up to Christmas, for more details visit www.the-hedgehogs.org.uk
