Planning permission has been approved for the development of 65 new homes in Farnham.
Waverley Borough Council has given the green light to Miller Homes to build the homes on a 7.7 acres of land off Hale Road at The Hawthorns, neighbouring Farnham Park and the Six Bells pub.
Construction is expected to begin soon on on the new site, which is called Deer Park, said the developer.
Miller Homes plans to sell 39 homes on the open market and 26 properties are to be built as affordable housing, including seven to be sold via the first homes scheme.
David Brown, managing director of Miller Homes Southern, said: “We have worked closely with key stakeholders to prepare our planning application for a development in Farnham which we believe to be of value to the area, so we are very pleased to now have the opportunity to deliver that vision.
“Our plans were approved by Waverley Borough Council to build 65 new homes, of which 26 will be provided as affordable homes, including seven First Homes.
“New residents will be able to enjoy the neighbouring 320-acre Farnham Park, providing a rural, countryside feel to the development, while the proximity to Farnham town centre, train station and the A31 just a few minutes’ drive from the site will provide great flexibility and commutability.
“We are now focusing on beginning construction work and we will be releasing details of the homes which will be available to buy in the coming months.”
