FORMER mayor of Petersfield Katie Pitt is urging the town's schoolchildren: "Let's clean up our act together" as she plans a massive sponsored litter pick later this month.
Miss Pitt hopes she will be joined by many youngsters from The Petersfield School and Churcher's College as well as other residents of the town on Wednesday, September 26, for the big event.
McDonald's restaurant is backing Miss Pitt's project by providing meal vouchers for all those who take part.
McDonald's will also be helping litter pickers to dispose of all their litter and restaurant staff themselves will be joining in and collecting rubbish.
East Hampshire District Council is providing bags for the collection of litter.
Anyone who would like to take part in the event should meet at 3-30 pm at High Meadow on Wednesday September 26, next to the Swan Surgery or at Petersfield Heath kiosk.
All money raised will be donated to the Acorns Opportunities group which helps children with special needs in the Petersfield area.
