The dye has been cast as a former barbers in south Farnham has made its final cut.
Plans to convert the former Sandrock Barbers unit into housing have been approved by Waverley Borough Council.
The unit at 26 Sandrock Hill has been empty for around a year while efforts to find a new occupant have been fruitless and pointless according to a letting agent.
Gascoignes believe letting the unit would be “extremely difficult if not impossible” due to a lack of footfall, absence of onsite parking and changes in the retail sector
There’s also concerns about the location, shape and configuration of the build with the firm believing that residential use would be “far more practical and sensible”.
The unit will become an extension of the neighbouring house with changes including new timber sash windows, detailed brickwork to match the existing house, and removal of the dated and rotting timber shopfront.
