THE writing could be on the wall for East Hampshire bookworms unless more people use a mobile library service.
Hampshire County Council has revealed that five villages around Petersfield face a reduced or withdrawn service unless custom improves.
Froxfield, Hawkley, Ramsdean, Ditcham Park and Catherington are among the 40 stops across Hampshire threatened by cutbacks.
Just two people or less use the service at each location, while some stops have no customers at all despite four weekly visits.
