A man and two teenagers have been arrested after a woman was pulled towards bushes in an attempted kidnapping in the car park of a Petersfield supermarket.
The alarming incident took place in broad daylight in the Aldi car park off Frenchmans Road around 5.35pm on Saturday, May 18.
Two suspects who were seen pulling the woman drove off after being confronted.
Three males aged 30, 18 and 16 were later arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnap after their vehicle was found on Station Road.
The two younger suspects are from Hounslow and Kingston-upon-Thames, respectively, with all three remaining in police custody at the time of writing.
Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Aldi car park around the time of the incident, especially as some shoppers may have captured the incident on their phones.
“We fully appreciate this incident will be of concern to members of the public and I would like to reassure you that all those involved are known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public at this current time,” said Detective Inspector Claire Ratcliffe.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation - we need to hear from anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police.
“We believe there were a number of witnesses in the car park at the time, some of which have possibly captured the incident on their phones.”
