THE organisers of Shalden fete met at the village hall on Saturday morning to present cheques to the beneficiaries.
According to fete committee spokesman Ian Champness, those to benefit from the June fete’s record-breaking £4,000 profit included Alton and Basingstoke Cardiac Rehab, Alton Community Hospital, Alton Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, Bushy Leaze Children and Families Centre in Alton, Hampshire Air Ambulance, MacMillan Cancer Care, Naomi House Children’s Hospice, and St Michael’s Hospice in Basingstoke.
There was a donation also to Bentley Scouts for the loan of tables, and to the fabric fund of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Shalden, toward organ repair.
The presentation took place during a meeting of Shalden Gardening Club.
