Rail passengers heading from Farnham to Guildford can expect delays this morning as the line between Wanborough and Ash has been blocked because of heavy rain and flooding.

Ash and Wanborough stations will be not served for the meantime with replacement buses running between Aldershot and Guildford.

South Western Railway have confirmed that rail tickets will be valid on the Stagecoach 20 and 65 services from Aldershot and Farnham, respectively, to Guildford.

Network Rail has asked passengers to check with SWR and their channels for the latest train running information.

A spokesperson added:“Because of heavy rain flooding the railway, the line between Wanborough and Ash is currently blocked.

“Trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised, and Ash and Wanborough will not be served, with rail replacement buses running between Guildford, Ash and Aldershot.

“We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused and we’re working to re-open the railway as quickly as possible.”
